William "Bill" John Schneider, born in Portland, Michigan on April 21, 1935, the son of Leonard and Regina (Huhn) Schneider, passed away surrounded by his family on April 16, 2021. He served two years in the United States Army as a medic. He then went on to work for 37½ years at TRW in Portland and he also worked for the Detroit Tigers at their stadium in Lakeland, Florida where he and his wife, Fran spent over 21 years. They returned to Portland in the summer where they had many hobbies and passions in life. His favorite hobby was woodworking – he filled many of his children and grandchildren's homes with furniture, which they will be able to cherish and pass on for years to come. Bill also served for many years in the Portland VFW #4090 Honor Guard.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Janice (Joe) Kavanagh; grandson, Ashton Peake; daughter-in-law, Camala Schneider; and son-in-law, Dr. Paul Kelly. He is survived by his wife of 64 wonderful years, Frances (Weber) Schneider; children, Cynthia (Matthew) McIntyre, Jean (Rick) Ward, William (Stephanie) Schneider, Pat (Brian) Brown, Connie (Richard) Lazarus, Mary (Lane) Carter, and Steven (Marilyn) Schneider; 21 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, with 3 on the way; siblings, Elaine (Bob, deceased) Eck, Chuck (Doral) Schneider, Kathleen (Dan, deceased) Spitzley, and Dan (Mary Jo) Schneider.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Mike Alber at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 22, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Portland. Rite of Committal will follow at Portland Cemetery.
