Dr. David J. Darr, 57, residing in Sandusky, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully Thursday afternoon, April 15, 2021 at his home.
David was born on October 19, 1963 in Fremont, OH to Anthony and Jeanne (Weisheit) Darr.
David graduated from Fremont St. Joe in 1982. He received his bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University and his doctorate degree from Logan University College of Chiropractic. He was a chiropractor for 33 years, owning and operating practices in both Fremont and Sandusky. David was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus #546. He was a past president of the Sandusky Jaycees and a past board member at the Caryl Crane Youth Theatre. David was an Iron Man and avid runner having completed a marathon in all 50 states, running 101 total marathons. He loved to travel, especially to Florida. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
David is survived by his wife, Mary (Pachuta) Darr, whom he married on June 26, 2004. He is also survived by his mother, Jeanne; daughters, Ayn (Adam Surowiec) Reineke of Lafayette, IN and Jane (Trevor Prescott) Reineke of Medina, OH; sisters, Mary Jeanne (Dr. Joseph) Koehler of Kirtland, OH, Susan (James Ruble) Vishey of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI and Holly Wilgus of Mayfield Heights, OH; brothers, Dr. Joseph (Stephanie) Darr of Port Clinton, OH and Dr. Michael (Joanne) Darr of Westlake, OH; 23 nieces and nephews and 20 great nieces and great nephews.
David was preceded in death by his father, Anthony Darr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with a recitation of the rosary 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky. Father Michael Roemmele will officiate. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
