Mrs. Jennie N. Long, 69, wife of the late Henry Arvine Long of Union Twp., died suddenly Monday, September 25, at 3:15 p.m. in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jay Shotwell on North Park Avenue. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Mrs. Long was born in Perry Twp., March 1, 1870, the daughter of Silas and Martha (Hendricks) Amos. Her marriage to Mr. Long took place December 11, 1889. most of her life was spent in Union Twp. Mrs. Long was an active, conscientious member of the Methodist Church and was highly regarded by her acquaintances, neighbors and friends. Mr. Long preceded her in death on March 15, 1935.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Boyd, wife of Harvey Boyd of Carrollton; Mrs. Martha Shotwell, at whose home she died, and Mrs. Agnes Noakes, wife of Walter Noakes of Cambridge; one son, L. Earl Long of Carrollton, and one brother, Sanford Amos of Perry Twp. Six grandchildren also survive, Kenneth Boyd, Norma and Paul Noakes, Frances and Richard Shotwell and Shirley Long. Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon in the Sweeney funeral home with her pastor, Rev. F. A. Gilmore officiating. Interment was made in Grandview cemetery. The pallbearers were James Shotwell, R. T. Saltsman, Dean Brooks, Richard Rutledge, Edward Long and Lynn Shotwell.
