Rose Emily Jensen, 99, of Sioux City, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Bickford Assisted Living Facility.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at Crescent Park United Methodist Church with a visitation one hour prior to service time. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Rose was born November 30, 1921 in Sioux City, the daughter of Edward P. and Mary Ann (Keough) Mason. She graduated from Central High School in 1940. After graduation, she began working at Wincharger, a company that made winchargers and manufactured gun parts and materials to support WWII. On January 30, 1945, she married Warren R. Jensen in Sioux City. To this union, two daughters were born. Warren preceded Rose in death in 2007.

Rose was a life-long resident of Sioux City. She was a dedicated member of over 50 years of Crescent Park United Methodist Church. She was the church secretary for 37 years and immersed in many other church organizations such as the Women's Society, Youth Group, Treasurer for the daycare, Chairman of the Memorial Committee, and a member of numerous other committees. Rose was also a Girl Scout Leader for both of her daughters' troops and the Director of Girl Scouts Camp for a few years. Rose enjoyed canning, knitting, crocheting, and sewing; she sewed clothing for her children and grandchildren. She made baby hats for the newborns at St. Luke's Hospital for many years and was an avid collector of angel figurines.

Those left to honor her memory are her daughters Kay (Gary) Cook of Kennard, Nebraska, Lynn (Jay Wheeler) Kroesen of Millsboro, DE; grandchildren Russell (Star) Cook of Kennard, NE, Emily (Jared) Dabney of Blair, NE; five great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a few nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, and two sisters.
