Gesiena "Lydia" Engelina nee Duenk (also seen as Gesina Luenk) was born in Aalten, Gelderland, Netherlands in 1841. She immigrated to America in 1847 as a child, most likely with her only living sister Grada L. Duenk (born 1846) & their father Hendrik Jan Duenk & mother Berendina nee Mekking. Her parents' first born child was Gesina Aleida Duenk born September 26th 1840 in Aalten, Netherlands. She died at just 3 weeks old.
Her father Hendrik was son of Garrit Duenk & Elsken nee Somsen.
Her mother Berendina was daughter of Garrit Jan Mekkink & Aleida nee Winkelhorst.
Hendrik and Berendina were married on December 13th 1838 in Aalten, Gelderland, Netherlands & are both buried in Perkintown Cemetery, Salem County, NJ.

Gesiena married Lamert Reymer (aka Samuel or Lemuel, surname also spelled Reimer, Reimes, Reymes) between 1860 & 1864.
Lamert was the son of Hendrik Jan Reimes (1803-1881) & Mina Hendrika nee Lammers. Lamert (his first name is likely an English variation of his mother's maiden name) immigrated to America in 1858 at about 24 years old. A Union Army soldier, he was mustered in as Private with the 2nd Regiment, Delaware Infantry in 1861 & served the entirety of the Civil War.
