April 16, 2021 Dorothy "Dottie" Montgomery, 95, of Fairmount, passed away Friday at O'Brien Road Senior Apartments. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, she graduated from Vocational High School. Dottie was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a former member of the Altar & Rosary Society. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and cooking. Dottie loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Dottie was predeceased by her husband, George "Ed," in 2008; brothers, Robert and Wendell Taylor Jr.; and sisters, Pauline, Virginia and Mary. Surviving are her daughters, Mary (Robert) Williams of Warners and Linda (Mary Clancy) Montgomery of Syracuse; sons, Thomas (Gretchen) of Johns Island, SC and James (Missie) of Rochester; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, April 21, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus. Face coverings are required. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, April 22, at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, 127 Chapel Dr., Syracuse. Dottie will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Warners.
