Ms. Cathy Morgan Johnson, age 49, of Cedartown, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 1998 in a Rome nursing home. Ms. Johnson was born November 23, 1949 in Polk County. She was a former Rockmart Librarian, a member of the Rockmart First Baptist Church, and was involved with the Rockmart Art Council. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joy G. Gore Morgan. Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Angela J. and Henry D. Henderson of Rockmart; her father, Selwyn Morgan of Cedartown; two brothers, Ron Morgan of Panama City Beach, Fla., and Jeff Morgan of Rockmart; a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services were held Sunday, December 27, 1998 from the Rockmart First Baptist Church with Rev. David Taylor officiating. Interment followed in Antioch Cemetery. Pallbearers included Rae Herndon, Glenn Campbell, Steve Miller, Rev. Carlton Duke, T. F. Smith, and Dr. Harry Long. The Adult 1 Sunday School Class of the Rockmart First Baptist Church served as Honorary pallbearers. Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
