Bill was a loving father and devoted husband. He served in World War II in the US Army in Europe and Africa in the Military Police. He remained in the Army Reserves after the war, retiring as a Lt. Colonel. He worked for a time in the US Border Patrol, then for many years in the US Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) until his retirement. He enjoyed playing tennis and wood-working.
