Mooney, James W., 76, of Richmond, Va., departed his earthly life unexpectedly and too soon on April 13, 2021. Jim is survived by his best friend and wife of 50-plus years, Connie; and their devoted son, David; siblings, Edith Powell (Bill), Marilyn Bristol and Walter Mooney (Marla); and a host of beloved nieces and nephews and their wonderful children. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Irene Mooney; and brothers, Bill Mooney (Marge) and Frank Mooney (Paula). Jim retired from AT&T after 39 years of service. He enjoyed many good years of fellowship with members of the Cold Harbor Hunt Club and spending time at his river home. Jim relished his roles as father, uncle, hunter, fisherman, scuba diver, poker player, world traveler and all-around fun guy. We are comforted knowing he had daily conversation with God, who guided his heart and actions. All services will be private and a Celebration of Life will be held in the future. The family encourages memorial contributions to the Walkerton Community Fire Assn., P.O. Box 85, Walkerton Va. 23177, or the Richmond Salvation Army.
