Religious figure. Born Georgy Eugenyevich Sovetov. Russian (Polish) Archpriest Sawa. Born into a military family, joined the army himself and fought in General Wrangel's army. Emigrated from Russia in 1920, initially to Belgrade, where he graduated in 1925 from the Orthodox theological department of the Belgrade University. The same year he took monastic vows with the name of Sawa. 29 November 1943 he was nominated for the post of bishop field to the degree of Brigadier-General, based in London.
Buried 26 May 1951, his name is recorded as Sawa Jerzy Sowietow in the Brompton Cemetery burial register.
