He was born May 24, 1927 in Piqua to the late Clarence and Nellie (DeLaet) Butsch.
He married Lenora (Irvin) Butsch January 12, 1980 in Troy and then renewed their vows April 12, 1982 at St. Boniface Catholic Church and she survives.
Other survivors include three children, Ron (Doris) Bercot of Troy, Karen (Mark) Blair and Annetta (Steve) Jackson all of Laura; four grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; also many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Georgie (Evans) Butsch; a sister Doris (Max) Jennings; and two brothers, Thomas (Rose) Butsch and William (Virginia) Butsch.
Mr. Butsch was a graduate of Piqua Catholic High School Class of 1945. Jim honorably served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Jim retired from Hobart Manufacturing with 42 1/2 years of service. Jim was a member of the Quarter Century Club with Hobart, and a member of the American Legion Post 184. Jim enjoyed camping and loved to spend the day out on the boat fishing any chance he could. He was also a devout Cleveland Browns fan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 22, 2021 at St. Boniface Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Daniel Hunt as Celebrant.
Burial will follow Mass at Forest Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by the Veteran's Elite Tribute Squad.
