ELM VALLEY - Lloyd Harold Holliman, 80, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2007.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel with Norm McVey officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Park Garden of Remembrance.
Mr. Holliman was born March 2, 1927, and raised in Kirkland to Loyd Homer and Ethel Sides Holliman. He graduated from Kirkland High School in 1944. He married Thelma Ruth Box in Quanah in 1947. He worked on ranches in Childress County, Cottle County and in Stonewall, Colo. In 1960, they moved to Dalhart, where he worked several years as a cattle auctioneer and cattle buyer. In 1975, he worked in automobile sales in Amarillo. He retired in 1991. He was a member of the Chaparral Baptist Church in Amarillo. In 2003, they moved to Elm Valley to be close to family.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Holliman; two daughters, Billie Holliman of Elm Valley and Debbie Finch and husband, Terry Blake of Dallas; a son, Loyd Earl Holliman and wife Desiree of Weston, Colo.; and a granddaughter, Heather Swimm of Sacremento, Calif.
Pallbearers will be Scotch Clements, Gary Frost, Dickie Maxwell, Tracy Willey, Bill Mercer and Terry Blake.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to Hendrick Hospice Care, 1682 Hickory, Abilene, TX 79601
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
