Sanford P. Tracy, 74, of 527 North Fourth Street, a retired carpenter, died last night in a Fresno hospital following a short illness.

Tracy was born in Goldthwaite, Texas and lived there most of his life. He moved to Fresno from Texas in 1945 and lived here since.

He was a member of the Methodist Church.

He is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Glendora Galliot of Falls Church, Virginia; Mrs. Edith Avera of Sentinel, Oklahoma, Mrs. Grace Ellis of Merced and Mrs. Chloe Le Masters, Mrs. Billie Morton and Mrs. Laura Rowland, all of Fresno; three brothers, Marvin of Quitaque, Texas, James of Amarillo, Texas and Wes of Roswell, New Mexico; four sisters, Mrs. Johnnie Thomas, Mrs. Zola Hall and Mrs. Stella Jones of Los Angeles and Mrs. Bess Gilkerson of Silverton, Texas,; 18 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. in the Tinkler Mission Chapel.

Burial in the Mountain View Cemetery will follow.
