Mary Elizabeth (Beth) Kitcher Watts was born in Palestine, Texas on February 26, 1933. She passed away in her sleep on April 15, 2021 at the age of 88 while in hospice care in the home of her oldest son, John. Beth married John E. Watts, Sr., in August 1948. They were married for 44 years. He preceded her in death on February 13, 1992, and we are certain that he was waiting for her at the gates of heaven.

Beth and her whole family were members of North Jackson Baptist Church beginning in 1953. Her faith and attendance never wavered through all of these years. Anyone who knew her knew of her solid belief in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ to cover the sins of all who believed on Him.

Beth was an LVN at Memorial Hospital in Palestine for many years. Her sons and grandson describe her as devoted, devoted to her family and her church. Loving and dedicated, kind and yet strong willed. She had a generous and forgiving spirit.

Ms. Watts's father, Robert (Bob) Dudley Kitcher (born 1875), and mother, Bertie Mae Kitcher Thompson (born 1896), as well as her sisters Bennie and Artie, and brothers Curry, George B., and Charlie Vernon preceded her in death. She is survived by her sons, John E. Watts, Jr. and Donald E. Watts, and their wives Mary and Sharon. Also by grandson Henry Watts and step grandsons and their wives, Larry and Lori Blair, Jamie and Kristen Blair, and Christopher Blair; great-grandchildren, Mandy Davis and Tiffany Kunkle, Jacob Blair, Elliana Barazza, Rylee, Nina, Calin, and Time Blair, Colt and Cody Blair, and great great-grandchildren, Aleea and Finn Kunkle.

Graveside services will be 2:00pm Monday, April 19, 2021 at Roselawn Park with Pastor Jason Driskell officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00am-11:30am Monday, April 19, 2021 at Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home prior to the service.
