On April 12, 2021 Nancy passed after a short illness. She was born in Passaic, New Jersey on November 18, 1929 to Gordon E. Matthews and Ann (Putnam) Matthews. She was a graduate of Rutherford High School, Rutherford, New Jersey, Boston University with a BS in Physical Therapy, and the University of Northern Colorado with a Master of Science Degree. In 1952 she was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U S Army Medical Specialist Corps as a Physical Therapist and served for twenty eight years. She had numerous state side assignments as well as tours in Germany and Vietnam. Among her decorations were the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal. She retired in 1981, and moved to Granbury in 1990 .She is survived by her brother and his wife John and Carmen Matthews of Granbury, nephews Douglas S. Matthews of Houston and Michael C. Matthews of Pflugerville, and niece Cynthia A Prostok and her husband Jeff Prostok of Fort Worth and their two children Payton and Philipp Prostok . Interment will be at the National Military Cemetery, Dallas, Texas
