Gloria spent more than 53 years teaching others in the academic fields of English, history, geography, science, as well as speech, drama and art. She continued to teach young people until 1990 when she began teaching adults painting and printmaking, During the time spent teaching, Gloria also studied at State University of Long Beach and Fullerton, Otis Art Institute, and University of California, as well as learning from numerous masters workshops in painting and printmaking. She taught adults painting and printmaking in the adult division of LAUSD, Los Angeles for 22 years, and formerly taught pastel painting and drawing at Palos Verdes Art Center.
In 2005, Gloria was honored as â outstanding Teacher of the Year by Emerson Adult School affiliated with the L.A. Unified School District and the Westchester-Marina Chambers of Commerce.
Gloria served on several National Art organizations boards. UCLA Medical Center among other collectors, own her work.
Gloria was preceeded in death by her parents, stepfather and nephew. She is survived by Bob Lee, three nieces, one nephew, many great nieces and nephews as well as many friends and associates, all who will miss her humor and joyful laugh.
Graveside services will be held at Hawleyville Cemetery, Clarinda, Iowa, at 11 AM, April 22, 2021. Memories can be shared with the family at www.ritchiefuneralhome.com. Arrangements were entrusted to the Ritchie Funeral Home of Clarinda, where we 'Celebrate Life'.
