He joined State Line Baptist Church at an early age. Larry graduated from McKinley High School in 1975. His life was filled with love and laughter. Larry loved and cherished his family. He was loved by his family and friends, who refer to him as "Blow".
Larry, Sr. departed this life surrounded by family friends at WellStar West Georgia Hospice on Saturday, December 3, 2016. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Larry Strickland, Jr.; his adopted mother, Lola Lovelace; brother, Randy Zachary; and two sisters, Shawanda Zachary and Sharlene Zachary.
He leaves to cherish his memories, one son, Stenson Strickland; two daughters, Lisa Strickland and Roslyn (Claude) Brown; daughter-in-law, Alisha Strickland; step-mother, Liz Strickland; four sisters, Diane (Cint) Grier, Theresa Zachary, Sheila Zachary, and Gail (Jimmy) King; four brothers, Dwight Strickland, Eric Davis, Andy (Jane) Zachary, and Jarvis (Rene) Zachary; thirteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; five aunts, one uncle, a special cousin and best friend, Carolyn Singh; and a host of niece, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories, one sister, Georgia Mae Tucker (Lewis); one cousin, Margaret Russ; nieces Jarvis Tucker, Gloria (Ronald) Jackson, Kathy Tucker, Georgette Tucker, Yolanda Tucker (Gary Stevenson); a host of great nieces and nephews; and many dear and devoted friends.
