Frank, husband of Connie Coffey Cash, died twenty days shy of his 20th birthday from third degree burns over two-thirds of his body, that he suffered when an incapacitated tractor-trailer driver hit the state pickup truck that Frank was driving. The impact resulted in a 55 gallon drum of varsol on the state truck exploding. Frank lost his battle to survive two weeks after he was transported to the Medical College of Virginia burn unit.
In addition to his wife, Frank was survived by his parents, Helen and Giles Cash, sisters, Beverley Folk and Nancy Puffenbarger, brother, Mickey Cash, and several nieces and nephews.
