James Ray Taylor, age 78, of Anderson, SC, passed away Friday, April 16, 2021, at Marchbanks Assisted Living and Memory Care.
Born April 12, 1943 in Anderson, he was the son of the late William Harold Taylor and Daphne Hair Taylor.
Jim was a graduate of Boys High and was retired from the U.S. Army National Guard. He retired from Duke Power after many years with the company and then became the owner of Jim's Electrical from which he retired. He was an avid golfer and was a member of both Pine Lake and Cobb's Glen golf clubs. He enjoyed his time as a high school football official for many years. Jim believed in helping others and was very proud of receiving an award from AnMed Health as a blood donor. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Rogers Taylor; daughters, Susan Taylor Kicklighter (Trey) of Brevard, NC, Cindy Taylor of Marietta, GA, and Kelley Johnson (Ronald) of Honea Path, SC; sisters, Faye Stovall (William) of Anderson, SC, and Bobbie Jean Watt of Spartanburg, SC; 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Bennie Sue Harbert Taylor; and brother, William H. Taylor, Jr.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, April 18, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Concord Baptist Church with Dr. Don Cox officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
