Joseph P. Woods of Silver Beach NJ, formally of Riverdale NY passed away peacefully on Saturday December 19th, 2020.

Joe was born in 1939 in the Bronx NY. He attended St Margaret of Cortona and All Hallows High School. He served in the United States Army for 2 years, receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1960. Upon completion of his military service Joe joined the Steamfitters Union Local 638 where he worked until his retirement in 1999 and was a life member. He was the head basketball coach of the St Margaret's Boys varsity team from 1977 to 1983. He was instrumental in restarting the Annual men's beefsteak in 1976 and was chairman from 1976 to 1996 and which continues to thrive to this day. He started the St Margaret's Boys basketball intramural program. He was a coach and manager of the North Riverdale Baseball League. He was the recipient of the Eddie Farrell memorial award for outstanding community service.
