Celebration of Life Service will be Sunday, December 13th at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday, December 13th from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vanderbilt Medical Center, Multiple System Atrophy Research, Vanderbilt Donor Service, 3322 West End Avenue Suite 900, Nashville, TN 37203. The family respectfully asks that everyone who attends the visitation and/or service wear a mask.
Mr. Saunders was born January 6, 1943 in Sumner County to the late Herbert Shaw Saunders and Mary Louise Moody Saunders. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sister, Beverly Gann and brother-in-law, Harold Gann.
He is survived by wife of 33 years, Susan Carter Saunders of Cottontown; William "Will" Saunders (Teresa) of Gallatin, Stephen Pate (Dana) of Chapel Hill, and Michael Pate of Ripley, TN; Amanda Holt of Portland; 7 grandchildren, Brad Saunders, Jared Saunders, Philip Vance, Abby Black (Wes), Hannah Pate, Taylor Pate, and Hadley Fulgham; and 1 great grandchild, Lakelyn Black.
Mr. Saunders served our country in the United States Army and Tennessee National Guard for 36 years . He was a co-owner of Brown and Saunders Mechanical Contractors.
