Shirley Erickson
With great confidence, Shirley went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 28, 2021.
Shirley was born and raised in Iowa Falls, Iowa. After college, she met the love of her life, Duane Erickson. She spent 62 years of marriage with Duane enjoying many adventures, helping in his orthodontic practice, teaching children and her favorite job, raising and loving her five children. She and Doc moved from Iowa, to Pennsylvania, to North Carolina, and settled in Athens, GA, where they had many great friendships and fun times.
Shirley was vivacious, creative and fun loving. She loved to teach, quilt, swim, garden, play golf and laugh. She even had her pilot's license. She made many fine friends along the journey of life, and left a legacy of love to all who knew her.
She is survived by her cherished family, Loving Husband, Duane; Children, Jon Erickson (Jan), Scott Erickson, Kristi Harrison (Ron), Angie McCarthy (Mike) and Jay Erickson (Brandi); Grandchildren, J B. Erickson (Anzlee), Adam Erickson, Kevin Erickson, Ridge Harrison, Nick Harrison, Case Harrison, Erica McCarthy, Paige McCarthy, Rebecca McCarthy, T.J. Erickson, Sam Erickson, Luke Erickson, and many adoring nieces and nephews.
Shirley will be remembered for her love of life and her great love for others.
She will be missed dearly and loved forever.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Chapelwood United Methodist Church.
