Helen Patricia Clayton
March 9, 1928 - April 12, 2021

Helen Patricia Clayton died on April 12, 2021, in Fresno, California. She was 93 years old.

Helen was born at home on March 9, 1928. Her parents, Algot and Saimi Helene Ahlberg lived and worked at the Wyoming Tie & Timber Company in DuNoir, which was the company town located in the mountains above Dubois, Wyoming. She and her siblings grew up at the tie company camp and attended its one-room school house.

As an adult, Helen and her husband, John Albert Clayton, lived near Morton Lake in Fremont County for many years. They re-located to Thermopolis over 50 years ago.

After retiring from the Wyoming Pioneer Home, Helen enjoyed having time to garden, visit with friends, and spend time with her daughter, granddaughters, and three great grandsons.

Helen resided in Thermopolis until recent ill health forced her to move closer to her family in California. She is survived by her daughter Susan (James) Fouch; granddaughters Frances (Justin) Thompson and Emelia (Coby) White; and great grandsons Cameron, Derek, and Cooper White.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband John; infant son James Albert; brothers Ralph, Bob, Ole, and Hank Ahlberg; and sisters Virginia May (aka Susie) Ahlberg and Margie Spaulding.

The family extends a huge thank you to Angelic Care Home in Fresno. We are so grateful to Angelica, Maria, and the rest of the staff for how they loved and cared for Mom. They were our earthly angels!

Cremation has taken place. No services are planned at this time.
