She was born May 21, 1923, in Winterset, Iowa, to C. Thornton and Iva Hamilton Duff.
On March 15, 1953, she married William E. Soppeland in Elsworth, Iowa. He preceded her in death as did her parents and a son, Gene D. Soppeland.
A homemaker, Mrs. Soppeland was active in the Parent Teacher Association, Pythian Sisters and Church Council for several years. Her hobbies included traveling, especially her overseas trips every year, needlework, needlepoint, crochet, crossword and jigsaw puzzles.
Survivors include her children, Myron "Myke" Soppeland of St. Louis, and Beth Peter of Peabody; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial service were at Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri.
