Richard Dean Stafford, 59, of Parks Township, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 while visiting his brother Reynold in Tijeras, New Mexico. Born October 19, 1957 in Detroit, MI, he was a son of the late Donald J. & Walta G. (Grant) Stafford. Richard lived in Parks Township for the last 21 years, and was a 1975 graduate of Ferndale High School, Ferndale, MI. He obtained his Master's Degree from Carnegie Mellon. Richard worked as a Global Marketing Manager for Emerson Process Control, formerly Westinghouse, Pittsburgh, for 37 years, retiring on November 1, 2016. He was a man of many talents and interests. Richard enjoyed mentoring people in life and business. He was an accomplished bowler & target shooter, and loved riding and working on BMW motorcycles. Richard enjoyed reading, camping, baseball, and loved watching his grandson play teeball. He was a veteran member of the NSSA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Donna L. Samulski. Richard is survived by his wife of 38 years, Diane R. (Babbage) Stafford of Parks Township; daughters, Aubrey R. (Nathan) McCutcheon of Allegheny Township, Casey M. (Kyle Bier) Stafford of Oklahoma Borough; grandsons, JR & Preston McCutcheon of Allegheny Township; and a brother, Reynold J. "Rennie" (Charen) Stafford of Tijeras, New Mexico. Visitation will be held in the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 100 Owens View Ave. Apollo, PA from 6-8 P.M. Saturday, August 19, 2017, Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Services will be held Monday, August 21, 2017 at 10 A.M. with Reverend Peter Goetschius. Burial will be private.
