Garry Calvin Green, age 72 of Copperhill,TN passed away Friday, April 5, 2019. He was born in Blue Ridge, GA to the late Leonard Troy Green and Nellie Inez Pilkington Green. Mr. Green was retired from the Cities Service Company as a Foreman at the Soap Plant. He was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Green was past President of the Fannin County Saddle Club and a past President of the Tri State Coon Hunters Association. He enjoyed working in his garden, riding through the mountains and all kinds of farm work. Mr. Green was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jason David Green and brother, Wade Allen Green.
He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Shannon (Missy) Green of Copperhill, TN; brothers, Larry Green of Gainesville, GA and Lennie (Carol) Green of Epworth, GA; sister, Barbara Odum of Epworth, GA; grandchildren, Brittany (Devon) Hurd, Raysha (Garryn) Cheek and Joshua Green; and great-grandchild, Gabriel Hurd.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, April 7, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill Chapel with Min. Bill Johnston and Rev. Charles Raper officiating. Music was by Austin O'Neal. Pallbearers included Garryn Cheek, Eddie Cheek, Joshua Green, Kell Green, Mike Worley, Austin O'Neal and Brian Johnson. Interment followed in the New Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations can be made to help defray final expenses.
