Barbara A. Kennedy, 83, of Medina, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, March 20, 2021. She was born September 2, 1937 in Vienna, Ohio to the late Ben and Myrtle Davis. She was a 1955 graduate of Vienna High School. She was a proud matriarch who enjoyed participating in many family activities. Barbara lived in Medina for 30+ years, and could be seen attending her grandchildren's sporting events and school activities. She was an active member of the Red Hat Society and an avid line dancer. Barbara began volunteering in the 70's with the Bath Volunteers, then continued her volunteer work at the gift shop at Medina Hospital for 21 years. After she raised her children, she decided to finish her college dream and achieved a Business Management Associates degree at the University of Akron as a nontraditional student. Barbara will be missed by her children, Sherri Case, Sandee (John Hatch) Powers, and Jim (Becky) Kennedy; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Volinsky and Lilian Diamond, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Les. Per Barbara's wishes, cremation has taken place. All services for Barbara are private and have been entrusted to Carlson Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Rd., Medina, Ohio 44256.
