Obituary of Hazel Charlene Clark
Hazel Charlene Horne Clark, age 91, of Cantonment, FL, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 11, 2021. She was born January 6, 1930, in Doerun, Georgia to the late Raiford M. Horne and Ollie Emily Smith Horne.

Charlene attended Pensacola Junior College. She married the late Huey Donald "Don" Clark on November 21, 1947. Don was in the U.S. Navy and together they moved from station to station from New Jersey to Key West, FL, finally retiring in Pensacola, FL. Charlene worked at JC Penneys for over a decade, retiring as floor manager. She loved her family and her church home at Olive Baptist Church.

Charlene was beloved wife, mom, Memaw, sister, friend, and child of God. A homemaker for most of the early years of her marriage, she was an expert cook, seamstress, green thumb gardener, and super mom. She was a solid rock, lifelong love, and best friend to husband Don. Her children were blessed to call her "Mom."

Charlene is survived by her three children, Janice Phillips (Dennis), Marian Kay Beardsley (William), and Gregory B. Clark (Micaela). She is also survived by her sister, Doris Lanelle Baker, 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and beloved husband, Don, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Douglas Juanita Wisham, Marjorie Irene Phillips, and brother, James Mike Horne.

Funeral services will be April 14, 2021, at 11 AM with visitation starting at 10 AM at the Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens. Pall-bearers will be Carter Autin, Jackson Autin, Gregory D. Clark, Mark Connolly, John Ferris, Jaimie Autin, Bill Beardsley and Samuel T. Jones. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 AM until the service hour. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ministry Village at Olive Baptist Church in Pensacola, FL.
