He is survived by his wife, Carol Wells; one son, Eric Wayne Welch II; one daughter, Krystal Lee; and five grandchildren: Abel Miles, Abilynn Hopkins, Sophia Hopkins, Averi Welch, and Macenzie Loyd, all of Washington, MO; three sisters: Lana Gibson and husband Michael of Arnold, MO, Marcia Moultrie of St. Louis, MO, and Cindy Welch and significant other Ted Schoen of Arnold, MO; two brothers: James "P. John" Welch and wife Susan, and Kevin Welch, both of St. Louis, MO; other relatives and many dear friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. A private interment with full military honors will take place at the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks in St. Louis, MO.
Memorial donations may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
