To Conduct Services From Home, Church In The Afternoon.

Funeral services for Joseph Seroka, well known Streator resident, who passed away Friday morning (August 11, 1933) at the family home 502 West Fifth street after an illness of eight months duration will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from St. Stephen's church. Interment will take place in St. Stephen's cemetery.

Mr. Seroka, a resident of this city for more than fifty years, was born January 4, 1868 in Slovakia. When a young man he moved to the United States and Streator with his parents and has made this city his home since.

He was united in marriage Jan. 4, 1891, to Miss Ann Bavolar, the ceremony occurring in Streator. To their union were born fifteen children, nine of whom have preceded Mr. Seroka in death. The following survive along with Mrs. Seroka and two sisters: Mrs. Joe Mazak of this city and Mrs. Andrew Braz (Broz) of Lakefield, Minn., John, Nanticoke, Pa., Mrs. John Lesak, Jr., Joe Jr., Mrs. Milton Klein, Helen, and Mrs. Frank Klein all of Streator.

The deceased followed the occupation of coal mining and was employed in many mines in this vicinity. He was a devout member of St. Stephen's church and also a member of the miners Local No. 8??, and Catholic society of this city.
