Joyce D. Pierce passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021, at her residence near Fairfield.

There will be no formal services.

She was born in Sioux City, Iowa on August 5, 1939, to Herman and Helen Pierce. Joyce moved to Long Beach, California with her family at age eleven and finished her schooling there. She graduated from Long Beach City College and later went to work for McDonald Douglas building aircraft. Joyce worked in all faucets of aircraft assembly and production including much work on the C-17 program. After her forty-two year career, she moved to Texas to be near family. Joyce loved living in the country and mowing and taking care of her animals.

She is survived by a great-nephew, Steven Mattingly of Fairfield; three nieces and one nephew, Deborah Ward & husband Buddy of Fairfield, Wendy Edwards of Teague, Robert Pierce, Jr. of Buckeye, AZ, and Darlene McDonald of Ohio; numerous other great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ms. Pierce was preceded in death by one son, Steven Pierce; one brother, Robert Pierce; one sister, Betty Pierce; one nephew, Vernon Pierce; and one niece, Georgia Pierce.
