Sandra Lowder Willoughby
July 1, 1943 ~ April 4, 2021 (age 77)
Our loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Sandra or Sandy as she was known by friends and family alike, passed away peacefully in the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City UT, with her son Jason (Rita) by her side on April 4, 2021.
Sandy was born on July 1,1943 to Elmo and Frances Lowder in Long Beach CA. She was the second of four children and the only girl, surrounded by brothers who teased but adored her. She loved her brothers and enjoyed growing up with them.
She married Dick Jack Willoughby on November 25,1960 in Oasis UT their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Utah Temple on October 12,1963.
Dick and Sandy lived their best life in Oasis UT. If you asked them what their greatest blessing in life were, they would both tell you it was their two sons, Christopher Alan (Yuan) and Richard Jason (Rita). These two boys made their life complete. Sandy was so proud of her boys and all their accomplishments. She loved them completely. From these two gifts, they were blessed with six grandsons, Brendan (Adaire), Brian (Kammi), Trace (Kylah), Tate, James, and Collin and one granddaughter Yuma. Sandys fierce love for life and her family will be a great blessing for generations.
Sandy had a lot of spunk and sassy. She spoke her mind, you never had to wonder where you stood with her. Sandy was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, she loved her Savior and served faithfully in many capacities. She enjoyed working on her genealogy. Her heritage was very important to her. She liked learning about who came before her and helped to shape her life. She loved unconditionally and with all of her heart. She was always very generous and kind hearted. If she knew you liked something, she found joy in surprising you with one or two to add to your collection.
Sandy worked hard her whole life. She enjoyed math especially accounting. She worked for Petrolane, IPP and Deseret Oasis Special Service District. She enjoyed working hard and helping to provide for her family.
Things that brought her the most joy included family, friends, the gospel, the PBR, Coca-Cola, online shopping, sewing and crocheting. She absolutely adored her great grandchildren, Neff, Navy, she looked forward to meeting her newest great grandsons Cooper and her precious bundle scheduled to arrive in May.
Sandy had a wonderful life filled with great family and friends. She will be missed by all those who knew her. She is survived by her son Jason (Rita) all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, her brothers Jay, Alan and Brent. She is proceeded in death by her son Christopher, her husband Dick and her parents Elmo and Frances.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Oasis Cemetery under the care of Olpin Stevens Funeral Home.
