Mary Warren was the daughter of Valentine Warren and Mary (Wilchey) Warren, early settlers to Hall County, Georgia. She married Nov 12 1820 in Hall County, GA, Mark Castleberry/Castlebury (it has been spelled both ways on documents) born 17 November 1798, a son of Odian Castleberry and Margaret Tallant.

The young couple started their family in Hall County, Georgia and show in the 1820, 1830 and 1840 census there, and later moved to Dade County, Georgia. They show in the 1850 census for Dade County, GA. Identifying their childrens names is somewhat difficult in that the 1850 census is a very poor copy and has been mistranscribed when you look at the actual words, which I have left a photo of here. No researcher yet has been able to find the family in the 1860 census which would have helped. They show again only in the 1870 census where Mary (Warren) Castleberry is no longer in the household and only daughter Margaret, 26 and unmarried is with her 72 yr old father.

This is what the 1850 census shows, with the addition of Uriah Castleberry who had already left home:

1. Uriah Castleberry (married Susanna Bryant)
2. Hiram Castleberry, 26
3. Lou Jane Castleberry , 23
4. Frances M. Castleberry (male) 21 (married Catherine Woods)
5. Margaret Castleberry, 19 ca 1831 (married 9 Oct 1879 John (G?)ifford
6. William Castleberry, 16 ca 1834 (married 12 Nov 1865 Elizabeth Bryant)
7. (best guess) Lucy Jane Castleberry 15 ca 1835
8. (best guess) Maryann Castleberry, 13 ca 1837
9.(best guess) Julius Castleberry, 11 ca 1839
10. Ira Castleberry, 3 ca 1847 (married 28 Oct 1855 Dade Co. Martha Steel)
