Mr. Calvin Baker was born June 7, 1947 in Decatur, Alabama to the late Lillie Suitt. While resting peacefully in his home with his loving wife, he departed this life on Wednesday, April 7th in Huntsville, Alabama.
Calvin was preceded in death by his great-granddaughter, Winter Aguinaga. He was known to many as a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle. His primary education was at Morgan County Training.
Mr. Baker leaves to cherish in his memories: a loving wife of 53 years, Dorothy; four sons: Calvin Baker(Suprina) and Alan Baker (Kristen), both of Huntsville, AL, Roderick Baker (Tasha) of Winchenster, TN and Eric Baker of Nashville, TN; five daughters: Carmen Porter (Corey) of Atlanta, GA, Katrina Briggs (Edward), Chantaye Jones (Nedric), Brandy King and Jasmine King all of Huntsville, AL; three sisters: Carol Thompson (Jessie), Angela Blackmon, and Debra Thompson; one aunt, Beatrice Swopes (Isaiah); twenty-four grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Graveside service will be 12:00 noon, Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Meadowlawn Garden of Peace (450 Mount Lebanon Road Toney, AL 35773) with Dr. Oscar L. Montgomery officiating.
Public viewing will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 14, 2021 and 8:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., Thursday, April 15, 2021 at the Royal Funeral Home.
