Paula Walker Cain, 63, most affectionately known as Minnow, passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2021. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, April 15, 2021, at Griffin Roughton Funeral Home in Corsicana, TX. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, April 16, 2021, at Griffin Roughton. A graveside service to follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
Paula was born on February 14, 1958, in Texarkana, Texas, to the late Kenneth and Doloris Walker. As a 1981 graduate of Texas Tech University, Paula ensured her lifelong dream of helping children, serving as a teacher in Corsicana ISD for 29 years. On March 10, 1984, she married Monte Cain and they raised three beautiful children: Amy, Peyton, and Audrey.
Paula's greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, who lovingly called her Minnow. She was known for her infectious laugh and sense of humor. As a swimmer at Texas Tech, Paula enjoyed time in the pool, in the Frio River, or any aquatic activity.
Paula was preceded in death by her niece, Leslie Hardin; and her father-in-law, Gene Cain.
Survivors include her husband, Monte; daughters, Amy Pickett and her husband, Josh, and Audrey Marx and her husband, Caleb; son, Peyton Cain and his wife, Natalie; grandchildren: Mason, Georgia, Harrison, Brady, and Connor; sisters, Debbie Hardin and her husband, Charles, and Jami Kemp and her husband, Jimmy; brother, Kenneth Walker; along with many nieces and nephews.
