Charles F. "Charlie" Grose, 85, of Granville, passed away at 2:02 a.m., Sunday, April 11, 2021, at Geisinger-Maria Hall Hospice, in Danville.

Born Dec. 3, 1935, in Lewistown, he was a son of the late Willis F. and Mary E. (Hartley) Grose.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Samuel, Howard, Richard and Philip Grose, and sisters, Edith C. Baker and Clara Kohler.

He is survived by: his loving wife, Marie (Barlett) Grose, whom he married April 7, 1955, and with whom he shared 66 years of marriage; children, Willis Anthony Grose and wife, Karen, of Lewistown, Tambria Gail Pisklak and husband, John, of Lebanon, and Russell Charles Grose and wife, Rosann, of Exton; four grandchildren; Kassia Gordon and husband Scott, of Downingtown, Nickolas Grose and wife Amneris, of Annville, Kara Zinsmeister and husband Matthew, of Irwin, and Darrick Grose and wife, Rachel, of Shippensburg; six great-grandchildren, Mason, Sophie, Emmett, Ellie, M.J. and Wyatt; and sisters, Anna Hain, of Lewistown, and Bertha Gilbert, of Colorado.

He graduated from Lewistown High School, Class of 1955.

Charlie was a member of Granville United Methodist Church and Methodist Men's Club.

He was raised as a farmer. In his early years, he was employed as a machinist by International Peripheral Systems (IPS). Charlie later decided to start his own concrete and masonry business, known locally as C. F. Grose Concrete.

Charles was a founding member of the Granville Fire Company. He was an avid hunter and member of the Hunters Green Hunting Camp.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown. Attendees must wear a mask and follow current social distancing protocol.
