Evelyn Grace Gilbert from Redmond, Washington passed away at the incredible age of 101 years on April 6, 2017. Evelyn was born on March 30, 1916 in Kamloops, BC. She spent the majority of her life in Redmond, WA on her beloved Lake Sammamish.

She married her high school sweetheart and love of her life Dale Gilbert in 1936. Together they built a beautiful life and raised their children Jean, Judy, Dale and Lynn. Evelyn's husband Dale, her daughter Jean and her son Dale sadly preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter Judy (Dick) Turner, her daughter Lynn (Gary) Heitlauf, her 9 grandchildren and her 18 great grandchildren.

Evelyn loved to travel, go dancing, play golf, swim in the lake and spend time with family. She loved cats, long walks to pick blackberries, row boat rides to her old swimming hole, a good campfire and to sleep under the stars on a warm summer night.

She will be remembered for many things: her incredible zest for life, her wicked sense of humor, her delicious pie crust, her famous Parker House rolls, her synchronized swimming routines in the lake and by all of her great grandchildren for her endless supply of jelly beans.

Grandma ~ we will forever carry your memory in our hearts and we know you are up in heaven dancing with Gramps in the moonlight.

The family will be having a private burial; In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Faith Lutheran Church or the Redmond Historical Society.
