Following his graduation, Roger was stationed in Germany and while he was there, became fluent in the language and deemed it as his second home. Roger later retired as a Captain. After his retirement, he married his loving wife, Joanne Lambert, in Oahu, Hawaii. Roger and his wife travelled the world before settling down in Herndon, Virginia and raising their two children, Roger and Erika Lambert. During his time in Northern Virginia, Roger Lambert worked as a Pacemaker Rep. , a Scout Master, a Great Falls Little League Baseball Coach, and a Reston Youth Football Coach. After his son, Roger Lambert II, graduated from high school, he moved to his lake house in Locust Grove, Virginia. He was a Sales Executive with Sales Force until his passing. In his spare time at Lake of the Woods community, he enjoyed fishing, bike riding, kayaking, hiking, gardening, grilling, swimming, among many other recreational activities. In addition to spending time with his wife and children, he loved spending time and playing with his rescue cats.

A gathering will be held from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Home, Locust Grove, Virginia 22508. An inurnment will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery with full honors.
