Sharon Ruth Tharp
August 2, 1938 ~ August 18, 2020 (age 82)
Sharon Ruth Tharp, 82, of Pasadena passed away peacefully on August 18th 2020. Sharon was born on August 2nd 1938 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Thomas and Grace Fagan. After graduating from Langley High School in Pittsburgh, she married her late husband, Alvah in 1957. In the following years they had four children, Lisa, Edward, Kenneth, and Alvah. After spending many years as a homemaker and raising their children, she spent a number of years working in several administrative capacities, including a few years at a doctor's office.
In her spare time, Sharon enjoyed listening to music, and she was known to be an avid reader. She enjoyed being a grandmother and visiting with her grandchildren. Sharon is survived by her four children; Lisa Volberg (Ken) of Pittsburgh, PA, Edward Tharp of Glen Burnie, MD, Kenneth Tharp (Anna) of Ferndale, MD and Alvah Tharp (Michele) of Pasadena, MD, six grandchildren; Ashley Gibb (Dave), Alvah Tharp Jr, Tyler Tharp, Jacob Tharp, Dylan Poling-Tharp (Sarah), and Corey Poling-Tharp, as well as 5 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her twin sister, Sheila Tait of Pittsburgh, PA. She is predeceased by both of her parents and husband.
