For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light." Psalm 36:9

Harry White, age 74 of Swords Creek, Virginia, entered his eternal Heavenly home on Saturday, April 10, 2021. Harry was born on August 9, 1946. Harry now joyfully awaits his wife of 50 years, Christine Ann White, their children: Gregory Scott and wife Wendy, Lavinia Ursula Brown and husband Larry, Vanessa Charlene McCall and husband Robbie, and Erika White. His love for them was unending as it was for his grandchildren and great-grandchild: Cheyenne Faith White, Hannah Lee White, Grayson Scott White, Valerie Elizabeth Brown, Hayden Cole Brown, Sophia Langley McCall, Charissa Paige Bostic, and Brielle Lee. He also waits for several brothers and sisters: Carl White and wife Alice; Harley White and wife Roseanne; Wilma Whitt and husband Junior; Shelby Finney; Linda Plaster; and Diane Lakey and husband Jim, and many nieces and nephews. Harry's journey was preceded by that of his parents, Clarence and Irene White; brothers Larry White, David White, and Darrell White; sisters Ruby Lawson and Ruth Smith.

Harry was a lifelong resident of Swords Creek, Virginia. For many years he was the owner of Triangle Research Corporation in Grundy, Virginia. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served willingly in the Vietnam War. Harry was a faithful member of Raven Assembly of God for the past 19 years where he taught Sunday School and served as a trustee, caring for the church and the property. Harry loved many things here on Earth. He loved his wife deeply. He loved his children and always looked forward to spending time with them and having them all together. He loved special times with his grandchildren (and they were all special times) when he could watch them play and laugh with them. Harry, along with his wife, taught his children to love Jesus, to love each other, and to love others. He loved working outside in the yard at home whenever he had an opportunity. Harry loved working at the church. This brought him so much joy. He loved his church and fellowship with his brothers and sisters in Christ. More than anything, Harry loved the Lord. Each morning and at any given time throughout the day, you could find him sitting at his desk, reading in his Bible and studying the Word. He loved to discuss the Bible with anyone who would. His knowledge of the Word was incredible. His presence and laughter in our lives will be deeply missed and while life for us here has changed, we hold onto the hope and the promise that we will see him again on that beautiful shore.

Funeral services for Harry White will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with Pastor Dennis White, Pastor Phyllis Simmons, and Pastor Doug Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at the Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Gregory White, Grayson White, Larry Brown, Hayden Brown, Robbie McCall, Brian White, Barry White and Tim White. Honorary pallbearers will be Everett Kinder, Jeremy Smith, Roger Ferrell, Landon Altizer, Bill Brown, J.C. Owens, and Danny Crutchfield. Members of the Casey-Shortt VFW Post #9640 will conduct military graveside rites. The White family will receive family and friends from 12-2 pm on Wednesday afternoon at the funeral home.
