Deborah "Debbie" Ann Kirby of Sevierville, TN passed away on Thursday April 8, 2021. Her lifelong battle with mental illness and substance misuse exacerbated her physical health. As an adult she enjoyed gardening, crafts and family vacations.

She was proceeded in death by her late husband and best friend, Charles "Chuck" Kirby, her parents and youngest brother, Thomas Atkins.

Left behind to remember her are her children Jason (Kari) Bennett of Pittman Center and Nicole (Travis) Ogle of Sevierville. Grandchildren: Morgan (Mason) West, Kameron Ogle, Jorja Bennett, Tristan Ogle, and Lilly Bennett. Great Grandchildren: Titus West and Atticus West. Sister, Sharon (David) Buxton of Sevierville and Brother, Charles "Rick" (Beverly) Atkins of Seymour. In addition, she leaves extended family, nieces, nephews, devoted friends and close cousin, Denise Petry.

Deborah "Mom" battled her entire life with bi-polar/schizophrenia which led to substance misuse in her adult years. Mental illness is common throughout the United States. If left untreated, it can result in co-occurring disorders, family heartache and eventually death. If you or a loved one is battling substance use alongside a mental health disorder, please seek help by calling the TN Statewide Crisis Line at 1-855- 274-7471. Special thanks to Sevier County EMS, E911, LeConte Medical Center and Summit Medical for your patience and compassion throughout the years.

A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers a foundation has been established in collaboration with the Helen Ross McNabb Foundation. Please consider donating to the Sevier County Youth Horizon Foundation. This foundation will assist to provide the basic needs of children whose parent(s) are battling a co-occurring disorder(s). When parents battle mental illness or addiction, children feel the brunt of the chaos it creates and are left in silence with their basic needs left unfulfilled. "We love you Mom, rest in peace".
