Joan grew up in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, with parents Arthur and Lucile Pfeiffer Roth, and graduated from Arcola High school in 1950.
She worked for the phone company before moving to Muncie in 1952 with her new husband Jack Taylor. She helped him with his early business enterprises, a juice company and later Fuller Brush, while also starting a family. She worked for Culligan Water Systems for 10 years before retiring to travel with her husband and volunteered at Ball Memorial Hospital for 23 years.
Joan leaves behind three children and their families: her son Bruce Taylor (West Palm Beach, FL); daughter Kathy Gaydos, her husband Wayne (Farmland, IN) and their children Josh, Jeanette, Jessica, Tiffany, and Trish; and daughter Carol Burt, her husband Gregg, (Muncie, IN) and their children Max and Clair. Her husband Jack passed away in 2004.
At her request, services will be private.
