Mimzie Faye Cantrell Allen passed away at the Rainey Hospice House.

She was a retired claims supervisor with the Employment Security Commission with 35 years of service. Mrs. Allen was an avid reader, volunteered for Meals on Wheels, and was a member of Pendleton First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir for many years.

She is survived by her daughter, Judy Pruitt (David); two sons, Doug Allen (Christy) and Charles Allen (Cathy); six grandchildren, Tina Foster (Bryan), Marc Allen (Alisha), Andy Parker (Merri), Jacob Allen (Cassie), Rachel Allen, and David Allen (Beth); six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a sister, Edna Parker.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister and seven brothers.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, at Pendleton First Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Jennifer Rygg. The family will receive friends at the cemetery following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621, or Pendleton First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 187, Pendleton, SC 29670.
