Audrey H. Watson, age 89, of Morristown, passed away early Friday morning on April 9, 2021 at her home. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Audrey also taught at Hillcrest Elementary for 30 years before retiring to care for her mother-in-law. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Watson; sons Mike Watson and Jim Watson; and sisters Barbara Griffie and Rhosetta Kent. She is survived by daughters, Shirley (Hartsell) McCurry, Vicki (James) Tullock, Lori Manis from Maryville, and daughter-in-law, Shelby Watson; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; and also her sister Baunette Adams; brother, Rodney Halcomb; and sister-in-law, Betty Sue Watson from Williamsburg, KY; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. There are certain things her grandchildren will always remember about their Mamaw. She had a generous heart and was happy to share anything she had with her family and those who visited her. She never wanted anyone to leave her home empty-handed – sending along food or things from her home that you might need one day. She loved her family and there are a lot of us to love: five children, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Even though Mamaw passed away early Friday morning, in some ways a part of her, especially her memories, were lost years before in her struggle with dementia. She was constantly trying to get back home to find our Papaw. This morning she finally found Papaw, and now they will never have to be apart again. The family will receive friends from 1 – 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 11th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 12th, at Hamblen Memory Gardens for graveside services, officiated by Dr. Larry Parrott, Rev. Mike Henegar, and grandson, Jonathan Tullock. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
