Evelyn was born on September 1, 1939 in Keenes to parents Lewis Crask and Naomi (Matthews) Crask. She married Bill Bailey on May 30, 1958 at Zion Church near Keens.
She had previously worked at the sewing factory in Wayne City, the Sporting Goods department Wal-Mart in Mt. Vernon, IL and was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with family and watching her grandkids at sporting events and activities. She was a member of the Keenes Missionary Baptist Church and taught Sunday School there.
Evelyn is survived by her husband Bill Bailey of Keenes, 2 daughters: Janice Shewmake of Wayne City, IL and Peggy (Paul) Manning of Bluford, IL; a son David Bailey of Bluford, 3 grandchildren: Ashley Hildrebrand, Bradley Manning, and Maria Manning; 2 great grandchildren: Hunter Snee and Brielle Shewmake, and a special friend Chong Gay.
She was preceded in death by both parents and a daughter Theresa Bailey.
Graveside funeral services for Evelyn Joann Bailey will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 12, 2021 at Ten Post Oak Cemetery near Keenes, IL with Pastor John Ashby officiating. I
