Mary Letha Marsh Way, age 100, of Asheboro, passed away peacefully at Elmcroft on Saturday, April 10, 2021.
Mrs. Way was born in Ramseur on January 19, 1921, to the late Numa Franklin Marsh and Mary Leona Smith Marsh. She graduated from Liberty High School and from King's Business College. On February 25, 1944 she was married to Hartwell Farris Way.
Mary Letha was a member & attended, as long as her health permitted, Asheboro Friends Meeting. Over the years she worked for Walker Shoe Co., Mayberry Dairy and retired from Stedman Corp in 1986. She enjoyed taking car trips with her husband, going to auctions, reading, knitting & going to movies.
She was a very loving & sweet friend, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother & Great-Great Grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Farris who passed away November 10, 1996, brothers Marion, Numa & Baxter Marsh, sisters, Georgia Coble, Blanche Minor, & Betty Kinney.
Mary Letha is survived by her daughter, Teresa Hodgin, son Hartwell Farris Way, Jr. (Tammy), Grandchildren Jeff Hodgin {Shanna), Jill Ragan, & Beth Davis (Scott), Great-Grandchildren, Ryan Hodgin (Clara), Zachary Hodgin, Ian Ragan, Emily Ragan, Rachel Davis, and Great-Great Grandchildren, Nora & Wesley Hodgin.
Mrs. Way will lie-in-repose on Wednesday, April 15, 2021 from 12 noon until 5:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro, NC.
A private service for the family will be held at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert Kidd officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
