William "Wild Bill" Elkins

      Boise, Idaho - William Elkins, 77, of Boise, died on Monday, April 5, 2021.

      William was born on July 12, 1943, in Yankton, South Dakota, the son of Lloyd and Opal (Peterson) Elkins. William completed schooling at Boise High School and Boise Junior College. He was married to Patricia McLaughlin on August 31, 1968. William resided in Boise, ID, Watertown, NY, and Watsonville, CA. His career as an Insurance Adjuster gave him opportunities to work for Intermountain Gas, Morrison Knudsen and Granite Construction. He was a member of the 1st Company Pioneers – in the Marine Corps, a lifetime member of the NRA and a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Freemason. William enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting.

      William is survived by his daughter, Catherine (Mike), of Meridian; son, Bill Jr. (Brandi), of Meridian; brother, Rob (Vicki), of Boise, 5 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

      He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Patricia Elkins.

      A private family burial service will be held at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.
