Wallace Howerton Jr., 77, of Halifax, passed away Aug. 29, 2017, at Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born Jan. 2, 1940 in Pittsylvania County, to Wallace Howerton Sr. and Jearlean Hutchings Howerton. He was a retired employee of Georgia-Pacific Plywood, Inc.
He is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Howerton and Rebecca Howerton; a son, Wallace Howerton; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Lucinda Williams (Robert), Judy Howerton and Lenor K. Womack; four brothers, Earl T. Howerton Sr., Lawrence Howerton (Marsha), Steven Howerton and Calvin Howerton; a host of other relatives. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Denise Howerton; three sisters, Ollie Miller, Barbara Williams and Elritha Carter; a brother, Darry Howerton.
Burial will be in Mountain Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
