Sidney R. Jackson, 85, Dilworth, MN, formerly of Ada and rural Gary, MN, died Sunday, March 15, 2020, at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.

Sidney was born on May 7, 1934, to Bryant and Helen (Malakowsky) Jackson, in Lockhart, Minnesota. He attended grade school in Lockhart and received his high school diploma, in the Navy.

Sid worked in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for a short time, working in construction. He joined the Navy while in California and traveled to the Philippines, from 1956 to 1957. When he returned home, Sid worked for Gunderson Electric and was a rural mail carrier for the towns of Ada and Lockhart, retiring after 30 years. Sid was also the owner of Jackson Gravel Products. Sid was united in marriage to Emily Hacker, on July 31, 1971.

Sid enjoyed steam engines, especially going to the Rollag Steam Threshers Event. He also enjoyed playing harmonica, guitar, telling stories and getting together with others, to visit.

Sid is survived by his wife, Emily, Dilworth, MN; daughter, Thressa (Claude) Dingmann, Sartell, MN; grandchildren, Lucas (Becky) Dingmann, Sartell, MN and April Dingmann (Glenn Morrison), Sartell, MN; great grandchildren, Hudson, Hallee and Lincoln; and several nieces and nephews. Sid was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jon Jackson, Eugene Jackson, James Jackson and an infant, Bryant; sisters, Helen Docken, Laurel Lee, June Wear, Marjorie King and Joyce Walle; and great grandchildren, Destinee and Hayden.

Due to public health concerns with the coronavirus called COVID-19, private family services will be held at Fredrikson-Ganje Funeral Homes, Ada, Minnesota.

Burial: Ada Municipal Cemetery, Ada, MN.
