Jackie Shiflett Morris
OCTOBER 17, 1947 – DECEMBER 30, 2017
Obituary of Jackie Shiflett Morris
Jacqueline "Jackie" Morris, 70, of Ruckersville, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017. Born Jacqueline Shiflett on October 17, 1947, she was a daughter of Margaret and the late Norman Shiflett. In addition to her father, Jackie was preceded in death by her brother, Norman Shiflett Jr.; son, Greg Morris in March of 2017; and her grandchildren, who tragically passed as the result of a house fire on December 18, 2017, Cynthia Morris age 26, Jeremy Morris age 21, and Camdon Morris age 6. Jackie will be deeply missed by her husband of 52 years, Eddie Morris; son, Jeffrey Morris Sr.; grandchildren, Jessica Thomas and her boyfriend, Darrell Harris, Jeffrey Morris Jr. and his girlfriend, Victoria Proffitt and Amanda Collier; and great-grandchildren, Lexie, Lacey, Cloe, Sophia, and Lincoln. Jackie owned Homestead Cleaning and ran the day-to-day operations even at 70 years old. She will be remembered for her wonderful cooking abilities including her famous fried potatoes which Eddie had almost every night, her cheesy eggs that her grandchildren couldn't get enough of, and her cornbread that could tempt even the pickiest eaters. She treated her cats and birds like family. Her grandchildren will miss their every Saturday shopping trips with grandma and mostly her contagious laugh. Above all else, she had a close intimate relationship with Jesus that brings the family comfort knowing that Jackie, Greg, Cynthia, Jeremy, and Camdon are celebrating their reunion together in Heaven. A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2018, in the Chapel of Teague Funeral Home. Pastor David Morris will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at the funeral home. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at teaguefuneralhome.com. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
